Meet the Farmers
At Hillside Heirlooms, Brittany and Josh work side by side to preserve the seeds, stories, and traditions of the past.
Brittany leads with a passion for heirloom growing and seed stewardship, while Josh keeps the farm running smoothly with his hands on care and hard work.
Together, they are committed to nurturing a living legacy one seed, one harvest, and one season at a time.
Our work is simple but meaningful: preserving the past so future hands can sow it again.
Nestled in the south east of New England, our farm is dedicated to saving rare, time honored seeds with care and integrity.
Every variety we grow carries a story of resilience, of community, and of the land itself.
Small Batch, Farm Grown Seeds
Every seed we offer is grown, hand harvested, and carefully cleaned right here on our farm.
We are a small batch seed company, committed to growing all of our heirloom varieties ourselves and never outsourced.
By tending every plant from seed to seed, we ensure the quality, authenticity, and vitality of the varieties we steward.
When you plant a Hillside Heirlooms seed, you’re planting a piece of our fields, our care, and our commitment to preserving these living treasures.

With over eight years of experience working the land, Brittany has spent the last four years passionately preserving and sharing heirloom seeds through small community seed sales.
Her seeds can now be found flourishing in gardens across the South East of Massachusetts offered at Emergence Gardens' farm stand in Dartmouth, The Coastal Food Shed, and through her online Etsy and Ebay shops.
Brittany’s work is driven by a deep love for heritage varieties, traditional farming methods, and the belief that preserving the past is an act of hope for the future. Through careful stewardship, she is helping to keep these living treasures alive for generations to come.

Our seeds are open pollinated heirloom varieties grown with care and respect for history. We do our best to find seeds that have a past rooted in early New England gardens but some are other varieties we choose because they thrive in our climate and growing conditions. We preserve these genetics by hand selecting seeds for health, flavor, and authenticity never hybrids or treated seeds.

Keep your seeds in a cool, dark, and dry place such as a sealed jar or envelope inside a cabinet or refrigerator. With proper storage, most of our heirloom seeds will remain viable for several years.

Yes! We ship our seeds throughout the year, though most gardeners prefer to order in winter or early spring. During peak season, please allow a few extra days for us to carefully package and process your order by hand.
