Growing Instructions

  • Planting time: Direct sow after danger of frost when soil is at least 70°F, or start indoors 3–4 weeks before transplanting.

  • Depth: ½ inch

  • Spacing: 2 feet apart in rows 4–5 feet apart, or plant 2–3 per hill spaced 3–4 feet apart.

  • Sun: Full sun

  • Days to maturity: 65–70 days

  • Notes: Mulch to retain soil warmth and moisture. Harvest when melons slip easily from the vine and emit a sweet aroma. Excellent for northern gardeners.
